Toddlers Program

Pumpkin Patch Program Ages 18 months – 36 months

Our Toddlers are called the Pumpkins. The Pumpkin Patch Program is for children between the ages of 18 months and 36 months. The Pumpkins thrive in the Pumpkin Patch where they feel secure, express their drive to learn, and build their competence levels. They rely on our experienced adults for nurturance and guidance as they learn. At Discovery House the caregiver and teachers strive to provide an environment that consistently meets their physical and emotional needs which in turn becomes a base for exploration and discovery.

Long term caregivers and teachers are the most important ingredient to creating a trusting and secure relationship with the toddlers and their parents. We partner with the parents providing an open door policy and communicate on daily basis providing information about their child’s day. By making our environment open to parents we are able to be consistent in ways to help the children develop and learn at a comfortable and effective method.

We know that toilet training is an exciting time in the life of a toddler and we want to make sure it is a positive one. Our experience and most pediatricians would agree that consistency is vital in how quickly and successfully a child is able to make this transition. Our role in this as parent and caregivers is crucial in the toddler’s success and feelings of positive self esteem. By the time a toddler is ready to toilet train we work with the parents when they are ready and set to take part in this important process.
